General Info:
Your RYA Day Skipper course helps you develop an understanding of the safety, seamanship, navigation and passage planning elements of skippering a boat during the day and night. It encompasses the cruising grounds around Sydney, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, The Hawkesbury, Broken Bay and Pittwater.
The course offers:

This is a live face-to-face course presented over approximately 40 hours.

A dedicated instructor, providing feedback, instruction and personal support, live, every day of your course.

Locally developed to be able to support the training and development of skippers who want real-life case studies on our NSW and Queensland coast

Interaction & discussion with your instructor, available throughout the day, and the course.

Immediate face to face feedback on your work and the ability to take exams at your own pace.

Use of proven teaching methods (discussions and immediate feedback exercises) significantly enhances learning.

Attain RYA Day Skipper Shore Based Certificate upon satisfactory completion of the course which includes two short examinations for you to sit in your own time. If for some reason you do not pass first time, we go through everything with you and give an opportunity to sit again, once you feel ready.

Learning is spread out over 4 weeks to facilitate deep absorption of the course content, not a 5-day cram session. We believe a 5 day cram session generally does not result in a pass, or retention.
